Three Dean Mead Attorneys Took Center Stage at The Florida Bar Tax Section Event

(Orlando, FL) Dean Mead attorneys Dana Apfelbaum, Brendan Hobbs, and Miranda Weiss were front and center at The Tax Section of The Florida Bar’s 2023 Fall Meeting. Held Friday, September 29, the event, titled “Estate and Tax Planning with Closely Held Businesses”, was presented via live video webcast and in person. It was hosted in conjunction with the Tax Section’s 2023 Fall Meeting and Tax Attorney of the Year dinner, which honored Dean Mead attorney Michael Minton.

As Chair, Dana kicked-off the event, Brendan presented “Planning Your Succession – Forming an Employee Stock Ownership (ESOP) While Managing Tax Consequences,” and Miranda co-presented “The Circle of Trust: The Use of the Florida Directed Trust Act to Keep Business Decisions in Your Circle.”

The purpose of the Tax Section of The Florida Bar is to further the tax knowledge and practice of interested members in federal and state tax law; develop standards for ethical competence of tax law by lawyers; develop and maintain proper professional relationships between tax lawyers, non-lawyer groups; and, improve the operation of federal and state tax laws, rules, and regulations, to accomplish legitimate legislative objectives and improve the administration of tax law.
