Dean Mead serves agribusiness and food clients with focused guidance in the areas of patent prosecution and trademark protection.

We can handle patent searches, preparing patent applications, and prosecuting patent applications to allowance. We also conduct infringement analyses, prepare non-infringement and patent invalidity opinions, and counsel regarding non-infringing designs as they relate to food industry products, packaging and production equipment. When necessary, we will prepare and pursue cease-and-desist letters against infringers.  Particularly in light of the IP implications of turnover in employees involved in plant genetic research and patents, we prosecute and defend claims arising under non-compete agreements, including claims for tortious interference, theft of trade secrets and unfair competition.
