Michael Minton is Chair of Dean Mead’s Agribusiness and Solar Energy Industry Teams. He represents family businesses with an emphasis on generationally-owned agricultural businesses. He assists with their organizational structure, federal income, estate and gift tax planning and business succession planning. He offers his clients extensive experience focusing on tax issues related to agribusiness, as well as water resource issues and new innovative uses of land for value -added propositions.
Michael’s clients receive the benefit of his more than 35 years of experience in Florida agri-business and interaction with agencies that regulate the utilization and optimization of their assets and business opportunities. Included among his multiple business and civic activities related to his professional experience, he is a member of the Water Resource Assessment Team (WRAT) of the Central Florida Water Initiative, and a past Vice-Chair of the Governing Board for the South Florida Water Management District. He continues to be involved in water-related issues across the State of Florida.
In addition to the aforementioned, Mr. Minton is a Past Chair of the Tax Section of The Florida Bar. He also is a former member of the Board of Directors for the Orlando Economic Partnership and University of Florida Foundation. Mr. Minton is a current member of Florida Tax Watch and Florida Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Trustees for Martin Memorial Health System. Mr. Minton is a past Chair of the Florida Alumni Tax Advisory Committee for the University of Florida Law Center Association Inc., as well as past Chair of its Board of Trustees. He also is a former Board Chairman for the Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute Foundation Inc.
