Loans Available to Growers Through Citrus Emergency Loan Program

Florida Governor Rick Scott has expanded the previously-authorized Florida Small Business Emergency Bridge Loan to include Florida’s citrus businesses. Small business owners may qualify for up to $50,000, and citrus growers up to $150,000, in interest-free, short-term loans under the program. Funds made available under this program are not grants. They are not intended to be the primary source of assistance to affected businesses, but may help those businesses while other funds are being generated or applied for in the interim period. Since all 67 counties were designated disaster areas, affected businesses throughout Florida are eligible.

The announcement from Governor Scott’s office provides a website link and email address for additional information about the program. Members of Dean Mead’s Agribusiness Industry Team are available to assist citrus growers in obtaining additional information and applying for the program. If you have questions, or would like assistance in preparing and submitting an application, please contact Agribusiness Industry Team attorney, Dennis Corrick at DCorrick@www.deanmead.com or (772) 464-7700.
