UCF College of Medicine : Luminary Series - Mollie Jewett

As a partner of the UCF College of Medicine, Dean Mead is proud to be a featured sponsor of their ongoing Luminary Series.  This special event is held twice a year to highlight different medical topics in the science community.  Dr. Mollie Jewett, Ph.D. was the keynote speaker for the most recent seminar titled Diagnosing Lyme in the Nick of Time.  She shared why the disease is on the rise nationwide, as well as her groundbreaking efforts to develop methods for early diagnosis and treating lyme disease.  New president Marc Chapman also spoke on behalf of Dean Mead beforehand.  The topical event was successful with more than 100 attendees.

Dr. Jewett is an infectious disease researcher and an assistant professor at the UCF College of Medicine’s Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences.  The UCF College of Medicine: Luminary Series was held on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at the Interlachen Country Club in Winter Park.
