News Bulletin – Hurricane Michael – IRS Filing Deadline and Relief Expansion

Important notification related to the Hurricane Michael IRS Filing Deadline Notice:
A Joint Letter to Florida Senator Bill Nelson and Senator Marco Rubio was submitted by Dean Mead attorney Michael Minton, Chair of The Florida Bar Tax Section, and Deborah Curry, President & CEO of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA). The letter requests the senators direct the IRS to move the October 15, 2018 filing deadline proposed by the IRS. The letter is written on behalf of the collective members of the two groups (2,000 members of The Florida Bar Tax Section and the 19,000 members of FICPA).

The Florida Bar Tax Section and FICPA also will be working together to get additional counties added to the disaster relief list currently provided by the IRS.
