Dean Mead Attorney Brian Malec Earns Florida Bar Board Certification in Wills, Trusts & Estates

Orlando, FL — Dean, Mead, Egerton, Bloodworth, Capouano & Bozarth, P.A., announced today that Brian M. Malec, associate in the Orlando office, has earned his Florida Bar Board Certification in Wills, Trusts & Estates. Certification is The Florida Bar’s highest level of evaluation of the competency and experience of attorneys in the 24 areas of law approved for certification by the Supreme Court of Florida.

Established in 1982 by the Florida Supreme Court, board certification recognizes attorneys’ special knowledge, skills and proficiency in various areas of law and professionalism and ethics in practice. Of the lawyers eligible to practice law in Florida, only six percent have earned board certification in one or more of the 24 specialty areas.

Malec is a member of Dean Mead’s Estate and Succession Planning department. He handles all aspects of estate and succession planning, including the implementation of wills, trusts, business entities and sophisticated estate planning techniques to protect and transfer wealth among individuals and families while minimizing income, gift, estate and generation-skipping transfer taxes. Malec also provides probate and trust administration, including advising fiduciaries throughout the administrative process and representing beneficiaries seeking to assert their rights in an estate or trust.

Malec earned a Bachelor of Science degree, summa cum laude, in Legal Studies from the University of Central Florida in 2004. He went on to earn his law degree, with honors, in 2007 and a Master of Laws in Taxation in 2008, both from the University of Florida Levin College of Law.
