David Hathaway Discusses Five-Step Inquiry for Filing Confidential Information in a Civil Case

Attorney David P. Hathaway, chair of Dean Mead’s Litigation Department, was published in the Orange County Bar Association’s July 2018 issue of The Briefs. Hathaway’s article, “A Five-Step Inquiry for Filing Confidential Information in a Civil Case,” describes the process that should be undertaken when filing confidential case records. He includes the 10 automatic exemptions from public disclosure as issued by Rule 2.420 of the Florida Rules of Judicial Administration, and he further explains some of the broader and potentially ambiguous subsections of the rule. Hathaway also discusses the (d)(3) Motion as it relates.
