(Orlando, FL) Published in the Fall 2023 edition (Vol. XL, No. 2) of Tax Section Bulletin of The Florida Bar, in their article “Legislative Update for Farmers: Sales Tax Exempt Agriculture Materials” authors French Brown and Daniel McGinn share details on the tax-exempt agricultural materials (TEAM) card which is intended to replace the current administrative process requiring separate certifications for each of the 25 different agricultural sales tax exemptions.
The authors share, “The 2023 Legislature sought to ease this administrative burden on farmers and vendors by creating [the] physical card issued to farms whose properties have been classified as agricultural for property tax purposes.” Applications for the card can be submitted to the Florida Department of Revenue beginning January 1, 2024.
