Dean Mead Expands Commercial Real Estate Practice with Addition of Anna Long

ORLANDO, Fla. – Dean, Mead, Egerton, Bloodworth, Capouano & Bozarth, P.A., a business law firm with five offices across Florida and headquarters in Orlando, recently announced that Anna Long has joined its Orlando office as Of Counsel in the Real Estate department. As a seasoned lawyer with more than 30 years of experience, Long has devoted her career to the areas of environmental law, land use, zoning, and administrative law.

“It is with great enthusiasm we welcome Anna Long to our firm,” said Marc Chapman, President of Dean Mead. “Her valuable experience in environmental law will benefit our clients and further strengthen our real estate practice.”

Prior to joining Dean Mead, Long was a Shareholder at Friedman, Friedman & Long, P.A. in Orlando. She also was an attorney at Lowndes, Drosdick, Doster, Kantor & Reed, P.A. for 11 years on its Government Approval, Land Use and Environmental Law Team. Before moving into private practice, Long held numerous environmental managerial positions, including Manager of the Division of Environmental Protection at Orange County, as well as General Counsel and Director of Environmental Services for a multi-state environmental and engineering and consulting firm located in the Northwest.

“I’m thrilled to join the real estate team at Dean Mead,” Long said. “What attracted me most is the opportunity to expand my practice and assist the industries that are driving Florida’s economic growth such as manufacturing, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications and utilities.  In addition, I’ve long admired Dean Mead’s reputation as being an excellent corporate citizen. It fits well with my passion for giving back to the local community.”

In addition to her three decades of experience in land use and environmental law, Long has a unique skill – a broad-based knowledge of filing exemptions for clients that operate unmanned aircrafts. This niche area of law in not yet widely performed, making Long even more valuable to the firm’s clients.

Long has been active in the Florida Brownfields Association (FBA) for a number of years where she has served as President, Vice President, and Secretary/Treasurer of the organization, as well as Conference Chair for two of the FBA’s largest attended events. The FBA is a non-profit, volunteer, service organization dedicated to advancing the cleanup and redevelopment of Brownfields in Florida.

Long received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh and her J.D. from Northwestern School of Law at Lewis & Clark College.

“Anna’s leadership in environmental and land use law will enhance our ability to serve the needs of our development and agricultural clients,” said Stanley Gravenmier, Chair of Dean Mead’s Real Estate Department.  “We are excited to have her on our team.”
