Dean Mead Attorney Dan Russell Quoted by Law360 Article

In the article published on August 8, 2022, covering a brief filed by the US Department of Justice earlier that same day regarding the legality of medical marijuana patients owning firearms, Law360 quoted Dean Mead shareholder Dan Russell, who represents the plaintiffs who brought on this lawsuit.

Dan told Law360, “After a cursory review of the Government’s Motion to Dismiss we are both surprised and disappointed by the Nixon-era rhetoric from President Biden’s Department of Justice. The decision to treat medical issues with medical marijuana, a far safer alternative than many prescription drugs, should not keep law-abiding Americans from maintaining their constitutional rights. We are preparing a response to the motion.”

The case, Fried et al. v. Garland et al., was filed by Florida’s Commissioner of Agriculture Nikki Fried who is represented by William D. Hall, Dan R. Russell and Jordane Wong of Dean, Mead & Dunbar, along with attorneys from Komisar Spicola PA and Caminez & Yeary PA.
