About Daniel R. Russell

Dan Russell is a Board Certified Attorney in State and Federal Government and Administrative Law. In addition to his legal practice, Dan serves as Chairman of Florida’s Second Circuit Judicial Nominating Committee as appointed by Governor Ron DeSantis and also serves as a member of the Medical Cannabis Advisory Committee as appointed by Commissioner of Agriculture Nikki Fried. Dan advises clients on issues ranging from challenges to proposed agency rules, up to and including complex federal class action litigation. He is also a Circuit Court Mediator certified by the Florida Supreme Court.

As a result of his diverse experience, Dan is recognized for his ability to serve as a neutral mediator, working with parties from a diverse group of industries including construction defects, state/local tax, personal injury, and property damage.

Throughout his career, Dan has worked as General Counsel to a wide array of private and public sector entities including the State of Florida, Department of the Lottery, Gulfstream Park Racing and Casino, and Surterra Florida, the first entity to legally cultivate medical marijuana in the State of Florida.

He is a member of the International Masters of Gaming Law, an invitation-only, non-profit association of gaming attorneys, regulators, educators and executives. He frequently serves on panels and speaks at national and international conferences on matters of administrative law, regulated industries, and constitutional law.
